Water clings to a Stellar Blue Jay Feather. These birds are frequent flyers at our feeders in winter and occasionally leave their feathers behind. The blue is intense and looks quite dramatic against the black background. Its always amazing to see the sprayed on water droplets continue to cling to the feather even when it is placed vertically.
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
