A Clown fish defending his territory. These little guys look cute but can be quite aggressive in defending their territory. They live in or near their own anemones and when then go into the anemone they get a coating that apparently makes them unattractive to predators. They are hard to photograph as they are in constant motion, going in and out the the swaying anemone. This one was taken in Thailand and you can appreciate the bright colors of the reef and the clear water in the background. Fish images are great for shower curtains and as acrylic photos for the bathroom.

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible.
