Round Spotted Stingray Canvas Print

I get a little nervous around stingrays underwater, although most of them make a real effort to evade getting their photo taken. In the past, I was stung by a ray. It was only trying to protect itself as I had fished it out of the water, but the injury it caused was months in healing and a level of pain I could never even imagine.

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible.
