These birds are so awkward on land. This one was determined to get a tidbit from a local fisherman. The man totally ignored the bird that waddled around behind him. It was a funny sight. Taken near Weeks bay in Alabama.
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
