Artist's Description
On the roof of Ely cathedral in Cambridgeshire, looking out of one of the openings over the beautiful little town of Ely. Supposedly, Ely received its name from the large number of eels caugh in the nearby area. The cathedral is stunning and the view from the roof is well worth the steep narrow climb up the stairs. I am sure it would have been even nicer on a sunny day, but the clouds are nice too.
About Jean Noren
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
