Artist's Description
This marker was found in the Visitation Cemetery in Washington County, Oregon, near Forest Grove. We went out at night, stumbled around in the dark and painted the markers with flashlights. Focus was a challenge. There were some ghosts who were interested in what we were doing and a few drifted into the shots.
About Jean Noren
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.

This is just wonderful, Jean! Beautiful results with light painting, makes me want to try it!
Jean Noren replied:
Thanks Kathi, Be sure and take a friend. Its a bit spooky. You need to go where there is no street lighting. Focusing is a major challenge!
