A barracuda hangs above us during a dive in Bonaire. They are snake like and fearsome looking with fangs and a hungry look. They have an unnerving habit of following divers, most likely out of curiosity. They tend to travel along or in small groups and hang near the top of the water column. I have tasted this fish but much prefer to see it in the water, even if it is spooky looking.
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
