Artist's Description
A yellowed and aging maple leaf has fallen in such a way that it is precariously balanced on a log in the Gifford Pinchot national forest in Washington state. All the other leaves have fallen flat on the logs, making a colorful fall patchwork...Or perhaps the photographer placed it like that to get some foreground interest in her photo. You may never know the answer but hopefully can enjoy the image without stressing about it too much.
About Jean Noren
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
