Old and dried out but still beautiful and reminiscent of spring and new beginnings. Daffodils signal the end of winter in the Pacific Northwest. They produce wonderful spots of color in contrast to the dreary overcast skies. I like to bring bouquets into the house, and occasionally will let them dry out in the vase. This produces a wonderfully textured flower that can be contrasted with various colorful backgrounds.
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
