I climbed one of the towers to get this shot of the painted panels with the stained glass above. The black areas are where the panels open and you can look down into the cathedral itself. The view was awe inspiring even on a gray day. I can only imagine how magnificent it would be if there were sunlight streaming through that colored glass.
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
