A white egret stares right into my camera during an excursion to the Fernhill wetlands near my home in western Oregon. I had watched him hunting along the shore for quite some time and witnessed him catching little fish from the edge of the lake. He stared at me for quite some time and I have no idea what was going through his mind.
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
