Artist's Description
Featherduster worms are common throughout the world in shallow water. They are beautiful to watch as the dance in the current, filtering food particles. Featherduster worms are polychaetes, marine relatives of the earthworm and members of the Phylum Annelida. The body can be up to 4 inches (13 cm) long, tentacle crown to 6 inches (15 cm) diameter . Diet is plankton, and organic detritus. These segmented worms secrete a leathery tube that supports and protects the soft body. About Jean Noren
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
