Really interesting image Jean....I am awed by your diving skills and underwater photography....l/f

Artist's Description

On night dives, corals look a lot different. Instead of appearing hard with a rigid design or pattern, they open up and display the mobile soft feeding polyps. Since they do not have a lot of brilliant color, I changed this one to black and white so you can easily see the dancing polyps. Taken at about 40 feet during a night dive in Bonaire, Dutch Antilles.

About Jean Noren

Jean Noren

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
