About Jean Noren
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.

I found and voted for this in the All About Wine contest..I looked at each entry carefully as you can only vote 10 times..and I came back (after going through all 15 pages!) to this...It haunted me...It was so different from the other entries. It is dark, cold and waiting for sunshine to return. It is starkly beautiful!
