This is a very thin fish with the ability to go through several color phases. Here it is stationary with fins and tail extended so it can be groomed at a cleaning station. You can see the small cleaner fish just above the mouth and on the right side just above the fin. I love the comical look on the faces of these fish.
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
