Description
Three mice skulls laid out for a photo. These were collected in the woods near my house. Scattered around the base of the tree were owl pellets that were old enough that the non bone contents had dissolved. It didnt take much hands on work to bleach out the bones. A pellet, in ornithology, is the mass of undigested parts of a bird's food that some bird species occasionally regurgitate. The contents of a owl's pellet depend on its diet, but can include the exoskeletons of insects, indigestible plant matter, bones, fur, feathers, bills, claws, and teeth.
