This pretty little berry is native to the Pacific Northwest. It is edible although I have never tried it. It resembles of Salmonberry as well as a raspberry. It is not been developed commercially because it's too delicate. I have been told, but perhaps not by a reliable source, that berries with clusters like this are always safe to eat. A nice thing to know if you're starving in the wilderness.
This was photographed with a Macro lens, against a background of a beautifully colored rock.
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.

This is something totally new to me, Jean. Very beautiful floral blossom. Looks like a cross between a strawberry and a raspberry. Your artwork recently submitted to our group WFS, has been chosen to be featured on our homepage with other members of our family of friends and fine artists. Thanks for sharing the beauty.
