A beautiful pin oak leaf is isolated again a blue background and backlit by the sun. The complimentary colors of blue and yellow make the leaf pop out of the background.. i love fall and am always collecting leaves and leaving them to dry out and being disappointed when their colors disappear. Photographing them is a much better way to preserve the stunning colors.

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible.
