Artist's Description

Pacific tree frogs are relatively abundant on our property in Northwest Oregon. They are usually easy to photograph when you find them sitting and waiting for their next meal to happen along. Unfortunately, they also tend to be camouflaged against their background in order to make them less visible to their prey. This little cutie was sitting on and matching a bright green lotus leaf. He hopped up onto the flower as I started to photograph him. This produced a really nice contrast of the complimentary colors green and magenta. The lotus blossom had just a touch of green at its base which matched the green frog perfectly.

About Jean Noren

Jean Noren

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
