A cute little sea otter floating in salt water. Can you resist that adorable little nose and black button eyes? Interesting fact, the sea otter does not have blubber, but rather relies on its dense fur coat to keep him afloat. They spin around in the water frequently while eating to wash bits of food off the fur so it doesn't matt down and affect their ability to stay afloat.

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
