Meet Sophie, a young, happy, playful, affectionate Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. Here she is playing in the snow near Mt Hood, Oregon. I wish I could say she was mine, but she belongs to a friend nice enough to invite me up to play in the snow. She had a fantastic time romping around and acted quite at home in the cold weather.

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible.
